At Midwest K5, the entire restoration process takes place in-house at our 17,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. This ensures greater quality control and a superior restored vehicle. We handpick every classic Blazer and rebuild it better than when it first rolled off the assembly line through a trusted, proven process.
We start with often-rusty, old vehicles and disassemble every single piece. Each part–down to every nut and bolt–is meticulously tagged and bagged.
All parts are sandblasted to remove existing paint and rust.
Salvageable parts are repaired, and new parts are fabricated to exact specifications. Bodies of the vehicle are refitted with new sheet metal. Body panels are adjusted for gap alignment and fitment.
Each one of our builds is fully assembled and fitted then disassembled prior to paint and body work.
New and old parts are carefully painted. The exterior is refinished with clear coat over base color coat in our state-of-the-art downdraft paint booth. We proudly partner with PPG for high quality products from start to finish.
The vehicle is outfitted with all new parts from top to bottom including new wiring, gaskets, seals, body mounts, trim and glass.
Each vehicle is put through rigorous testing including miles of test drives to ensure everything is working correctly and the steering and handling is performing up to our high standards.
While each Chevy K5 Blazer restored by Midwest K5 largely retains an original, factory-looking appearance, we include modern upgrades and technology for a better ride and drive experience.
Midwest K5 operates out of a 17,000-square-foot facility equipped with a downdraft, paint booth and PPG paint mixing station. This ensures that each project moves through our process seamlessly. We average about 2,000 hours of labor time in each K5 Blazer.
